Gotta be the first

Do you all ever notice how the sports reporters need to be the first to put something in print? The son of Howie Long is already being put into the hall of fame by dillusional reporters. The poor kid has not even played a down in the NFL, or even in a BIG college football game.

Help me out in calling out poorly written articles when you see them.

Gotta be the first

I gotta say, Buster, it could be worse.  At least they're going out on a limb.  Here in Chi-Town we have the "great" Jay Mariotti who only bashes players/teams unless it's a safe bet.  He falls all over guys like Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods, but has nothing good to say about anyone else.  You've probably seen him on "Around the Horn" on ESPN in the afternoons.  He's a real tool.

Gotta be the first

I hear ya, I just get tired of the undo pressure this type of media coverage puts on a kid.  Not all of the kids going pro have a father who has been through the experience to help them along the way.  Prime example is Pryor, no college experience but is expected to save Mishigan if he chooses them,  step in for Perrilouix and not have LSU miss a beat.  You watch and see how effective he is with the added pressure of being the next Vince Young.  I only wish the would let them develop a little before hanging the weight of the University or Franchise on them.  Reporters need to ease up on the comparisons until they are warranted.
